Wrestling team falls to Chippewas

EAST LANSING - Junior Franklin Gomez kept his unbeaten streak alive Saturday in MSU's 29-6 loss at home to Central Michigan.

The No. 1-ranked Gomez (133 pounds) won an 11-4 decision over No. 13 Conor Beebe of the Chippewas.

"Franklin makes it look easy," MSU coach Tom Minkel said.

Nick Palmeri (184) gave the Spartans their only other victory with an 8-6 decision over CMU's Vince DiDona.

The Spartans (3-2) will be off next week as they prepare to travel to West Virginia to face the Mountaineers on Jan. 17.
