Michigan State junior guard Kalin Lucas has an ankle sprain, not a break of any kind, and his status for Saturday's game at Illinois is uncertain.

"X-rays today confirmed that Kalin Lucas has a sprained ankle," team spokesman Matt Larson said. "The team did not practice today. We won't have any idea on status for this weekend until at least tomorrow or later in the week when we see how it responds to treatment and how quickly it heals."
Lucas went down midway through the second half of MSU's 67-49 loss at Wisconsin on Tuesday. He came down on the foot of Wisconsin's Keaton Nankivil after rising for a jump shot.
After the game, Lucas said he believes he has a "high sprain," which often means longer recovery time.
